What is Stepping Forward?

It is a framework of Opportunities for Life.

It is a breakdown of the Communities and Local Government (CLG) Outcomes into ‘Easy Read’ skills and knowledge.

Stepping Forward

Is an assessment tool for Service Users to assess:

Where they are in life
Where they want to be

And in their support planning:

How they are going to get there.

What does it do?

It enables Service Users to choose their journey in life and measure their progress on that journey.

It enables staff to support service users in assessing their life choices.

It forms a link between the CLG Outcomes and Support Planning.

It provides easily measurable self assessed evidence of individual achievements (Hard Outcomes)

Stepping Forward was design by the SP Providers Network, Voluntary, Public and Private Sector working together to promote succesful independent living for service users in Bradford.
